I just put this rack together today, and one of the major pieces (the "arm" of the rack, which is the piece which actually holds the bike) was broken.This meant that half the bike rack is unusable.

This was not the deal-breaker for me, though.This rack doesn't work for small bikes!!!!I have a 44 cm frame, women's specific racing bike, and the "arm" was too large to fit my bike frame, so there is literally no way to hang my bike on this rack.Small cyclists, beware!

Allen Industrial Grade 4-Bike Parking Rack Review

First of all, Amazon.com service was teriible with both packages arriving ripped, in poor condition, and the first with a used and incomplete rack which I returned.

The rack is solidly built, but doesn't fit four bikes comfortably as advertised due to the handle bars.It fits two just fine, but since it is only one sided (a feature I needed) the other two can't be used for the other side.There are numerous web sites for bike storage which have better models.I mistakingly chose amazon.com assuming better service, quality and value.

I would not buy this item again.

LeHigh Crawford Flip Up Storage Rack #FSR13 Review

What can I say, this rack does just what it says.It holds my Trek off the ground; nothing stellar about that in itself.The construction seems solid and the price is nice.

My only complaint would be the installation, but that has more to do with my gutless cordless drill having difficulties driving one of the screws into a knot in the wall stud and not the rack itself.I am marking one star off as the screws do seem to be made of a softer metal - the Phillips head stripped pretty easily.

SCHULTE 7115-5040-50 Bike Rack and Basket, Granite Gray Review

The item would not fit on our standard Schulte grid system because the adapters were too wide.I thought about shipping it back but the hassle wasn't worth it.Installed it directly on to the wall studs but it doesn't look as good and defeats the purpose of the grid panels.I know it is too wide because we have another one of these exact Schulte basket/bike holders and when I measured it against the old one it was about 1/4" too wide on both ends.

Delta Rothko Rolling Bicycle Stand Review

The stand assembles in around 10-15 minutes, depending on if you know which pre-drilled holes to use or not.The build quality is reasonable, but the bolts for the casters don't all fit screw in evenly.This doesn't affect the functionality, but seems like something that shouldn't be an issue w/ today's manufacturing technologies.

The casters are great, allowing some movement of the bike and stand without removing the bike.

The only areas of improvement are maybe some better design or feature that further prevents the wheel from tipping/leaning in either direction.Preferably a simple machining or stamping solution as part of the regular manufacturing process that doesn't increase the price would be best.

Compactness is good, too.I have 6 bikes in the garage, and they all store neatly next to each other.

Value, convenience, and size are this stand's strong points.

Delta Da Vinci Bicycle Tire Tray Review

I purchased this product to go along with the Delta bike rack.Yes, it will keep your tire off the wall and I suppose it is somewhat complementary in style to the rack in that they both display a similar curve.But there is much to be desired here.The piece is only about six inches long and therefore will only separate wall from tire at that one point where the bike is completely suspended from the rack.Since the securing of the bike in the rack requires a higher lift and then a lowering to its final resting point it would have been better to have a tray of some length that the rear tire could roll in as you secure the bike in the rack.And of course since it is so short that you are out of luck if you try to hang a different bike whose wheels aren't separated by the exact same distance.

Another complaint is that this item is just a solid piece of translucent plastic whereas the rack is metal, so when you see them on the wall it's not quite obvious that they were meant to go together.Lastly the attachment to the wall is via an adhesive pad.There is no hole for anchoring it more securely and of course when you get a new bike and need to have the rack and tray at a different distance from each other you'll likely damage the wall trying to relocate it.

Delta El Greco Ceiling Hoist Review

I recently purchased and installed the Delta El Greco Ceiling Hoist for my mountain bike.After reading the the reviews of other hoists from Rad and Racor, I chose the Delta because it had the least negative reviews.

Most of these negative comments were related to the supplied mounting screws.The screws are typical Asian-made hardware, not the best in the world - but the screws supplied are not defective.With the proper drive tool, they can be easily used.They are Pozidrive screws, I added an image to the photo gallery to illustrate how a Pozidrive screw is identified.These can be driven by a Phillips driver, but it requires care to properly align the driver with the screw drive recess.If the driver is allow to move off center to an angle while apply drive torque, the bit will easily "cam out."

To successfully use the supplied screws, a proper screwdriver must be used.Most people, myself included, do not own Pozidrive tools.I used a #3 Phillips bit in a cordless drill/driver and had no trouble with the screws.However,if you're not comfortable with this, or don't have a #3 Phillips driver, then it's easy enough to go to the local hardware store and buy some screws for under a dollar.

As to the operation of the hoist after getting it installed, it works great.The bicycle raises fairly evenly (stays level) and the rope catch holds it securely in place once the bike is up.As another reviewer mentioned, it works sort of like a venetian blind type device.It's still wise to also use the supplied rope cleat to tie-off the excess rope as an added safety measure.

I love the way this bicycle hoist works and am very happy with it.

Racor Pro ABL-1R Aluminum Ceiling Mounted Bike Lift Review

If you've got high ceilings, this is a great way to store you bikes in your garage.I've got a double car garage with two single car garage doors.My bikes fit great in between the doors and high enough I don't have to duck underneath them to walk under.

Like I said in the title of this review, my biggest praise for this product is that it is safe.I chose the more expensive than the one for half the price because of the cam lock feature.Once I get a bike hoisted all the way up to the ceiling, I can let go of the rope and the bike stys right where it is, it will not come down on its own.This is a HUGE feature if you've got kids.The last thing you want is a bike falling on some kids head because they were screwing around with the rope (which is natural for a kid to do).

The only thing that I found somewhat difficult was initially hitting the studs in the ceiling when screwing in the board.My ceiling is textured, so my stud finder wasn't very effective.I finally hit the stud after the first couple of trys.But once you hit the first stud, measure out with your tabe and you're good to go.

Quick note- I suggest screwing in a 2x6 to the ceiling, making sure that is very secure, then screw the bike lift into the 2x6.I think its more secure this way and gives you more room for error when screwing into the studs (four screws per stud vs one)

Installation of the device is a snap.A third grader with a ladder could figure it out.The rope (they give you more than you need) is very strong & doesn't feel like it'll fray any time in the future.

I'd recommend this lift for bikes any time.

On a side note, I can't see using one of these for a ladder.A ladder fits so nice and flush on a wall that a hook would work so much better than this.

But for a bike, there's no question- Go with this!This is the Michael Jackson of bike storage (the "BAD" album Michael Jackson, not the sleep over Michael Jackson)!

First of all the box arrived so banged up, pieces of the rack were hanging out - it looked like it got left in the rain along the way.Second, there is no possible way we can figure out to rack 6 bikes on this thing.The product description said single-sided - that is impossible - the spaces are WAY too close together.We also tried it double-sided (which wouldn't work in the space we have to rack bikes anyway) but that didn't work either.And mountain bike tires don't even fit into the rack

I really wanted this product to work. Its very well made - german engineering. The concept is great - nothing to drill in the walls.
I read the other reviews, and understand why some like and some didn't like. I spent several hours over three days, and discovered that it depends on the surfaces you are installing it on (ceiling and floor). If you are putting this on carpet, with a textured ceiling - something for it to grab onto - it works. If you are putting it on a smooth concrete floor (in your garage, for example), or a smooth piece of wood (like in an unfinished ceiling in your garage), the stand doesn't grip tight enough and tends to move slightly. Under the weight of bikes, and with vibration from the garage door opener, it can fall over.

I ordered this product because I needed to get two bicycles off the limited space on my garage floor.No problems with delivery and the rack itself is well made and looks good.Installation was also easy - one screw in a stud.(The screw is cheap metal and strips easy)My major problem is that the rack only holds ONE bike, not two.I know it'll hold only one 'cause I tried every concevibale angle to hang the two bikes and it just doesn't work.If you want a rack for one bike - this will do, but if you want a rack for TWO bikes - find another product.

Delta Leonardo Single-Bike Rack Review

The verticle bike rack works great.Holds my bikes securely...and saves garage storage space.After looking at all the bike storage solutions...this is the best choice.Those gravity bike racks eat up too much garage space as the bikes are still horizontal.Hanging it from the ceiling is not good as it sways and not all that secure.Bike rack on the ground is not good as it is just as good as using a kickstand.

I was able to mount two bikes to the wall...where the two racks are 15" apart.Total space used for both bikes is less than three feet.

After looking at other vertical racks...this is the most well constructed.

Swagman Hang It Bike Hanger Review

not too bad. Its really really easy to install, ships super fast. Only complaint I have is that the angle tighteners do not tighten the whole way, so basically they just rotate and the bike balences on them. I was not aware of this when I bought it. It looks good and is pretty sturdy. No problem holding two bikes, there's more than enough room. Just having the actual bike holder part not tighten is a upsetting.

Swagman 3 Bike Stand Review

I have several kids, and their bikes were always laying around where they shouldn't be before I bought this stand.

This stand is very lightweight, but is of good quality and holds all sizes of bike just fine.Great value for the price.The only downside is that the stand tends to move a bit when the bike is pushed into it.

If you have more $$$ to spend, I would recommend a stand made of heavier material that won't move as easily. Otherwise, no complaints whatsoever.
